His affidavit stated his age in 1850 was 76. Pension Papers in Docmt Section. (Bedford Co VA 1787 Tax List shows a William Boughtright age 21+ with son b 1766-1771 (age 16-21), believed to be William Boatright Sr & Jr. The affida- vit supporting Wm b 1774 was submitted by Thomas I. Hughes of Clarksville, Habersham Co GA, who could have errored preparing the affidavit for Wm's signa- ture. Wm b 1744 could have errored when reporting Wm Jr's age for the tax; not likely as the error reporting him age 16-21 would have cost him tax, and if he was age 13 there was no tax. An- other possibility is an error by the tax recorder; not likely as Wm Sr would have protested the extra tax required. Most likely is the possibility Thomas Hughes errored preparing the affidavit and Wm Jr was b before 1771. The last possibility is that Wm b ca 1774 is not a son of William b 1744.)
